I love this article and think it is a consta...Rip,<br /><br />I love this article and think it is a constant any manger is trying to analyze, or at least should be. I was happy to see you have several other articles posted.<br /><br />I think one of the most common misconceptions when it comes to productivity is activity does not mean productivity. Now, that can be viewed in a couple different ways. <br /><br />From a sales perspective, many sale people believe as long as they are making calls, sending emails, maybe working on that "big" deal, that they are being productive. This is not the case. I agree the true measure of productivity, is how much value is being created for both the company and in a sales atmosphere, the client as well. Creating value on both ends is the ONLY way to truly be productive for a sales organization.<br /><br />Now, it is very interesting to look at this from another perspective and that being the example you used above. In this case your approach to defining this is perfect, “I guess the whole point boils down to value...who defines that, how you prioritize the "whos", and I will be very interested in reading your next article about “Systems Thinking”<br /><br />Thanks for you insight Rip and everything else.<br /><br />JedidiahJedidiah Taylornoreply@blogger.com
